With our self-checkout feature, clients can check themselves out directly on their mobile device. You can send your client a WhatsApp or SMS message containing a link to view their bill, complete their payment and add a tip.
- You must be integrated with a payment gateway of your choice in order to use self-checkout.
Using self-checkout
- Generate a sales invoice for the client as you normally would.
- Instead of choosing a payment method, hover over the share icon on the toolbar.
- Select Self-checkout, and then choose the desired option. If you select SMS, it will take you to a confirmation screen where you can verify the mobile number and message being sent before sending it. If you choose WhatsApp, it will try to open your WhatsApp for web, or installed WhatsApp app and populate it with the client's phone number, and the link to pay. Alternatively, choose Copy Link to copy the checkout link to the clipboard for use elsewhere.
Checkout and payment
Once the client clicks the self-checkout link, they will be presented with their invoice along with the option to add a tip. They will then check-out and pay like a normal online payment, using your preferred payment gateway. Once payment is successful, the receipt will be automatically attached to the original sales invoice, and you will receive an email notification that a receipt has been processed.
- Clients will only be able to apply a tip if one or more of the invoice items has an employee assigned to it.
- The specific tip is allocated to all service employees by default. If no service employees are assigned, it will look for any other invoice employee.
- Self-checkout will only be available on sales invoices that have no other receipts linked to them.
